On the other hand, it has disadvantages. For example, because of the lack of living experience and poor capability to take care of themselves, they may feel lonely and homesick. In addition, high living expenses and tuition fees will become a heavy burden upon their parents.
So I think whether studying abroad or not should be decided according to oneself and one’s family. It is not right to follow others.

畢業(yè)了，感想特多，但其實(shí)畢業(yè)這段時(shí)間想得最多的就是英語專業(yè)的出路問題。雖然本人因?yàn)槿狈π判暮湍懥繌亩x擇保研這個(gè)最中庸而省事的道路，但我的許多同學(xué)皆因最終出路問題，絞過不少腦汁也有過n夜的掙扎。最后有一大半的同學(xué)選擇了考研，當(dāng)然這其中還不包括保研的。究其最根本原因，無非是理科學(xué)校english majors找工作實(shí)在是難。這點(diǎn)在今年尤為明顯，一是因?yàn)楝F(xiàn)在英語人才爆炸，阿貓阿狗的都會(huì)來幾句;二是因?yàn)?9年為第一年大規(guī)模擴(kuò)招，僧多粥少啊!!其實(shí)現(xiàn)在市場上對(duì)于英語人才的需求還是蠻大。但問題是真正學(xué)的精的人少之又少，大多數(shù)人還是浮于表面。到最后真正純粹靠英語糊口的人已然不多，大多數(shù)人都轉(zhuǎn)去搞別的了，比如外貿(mào)什么的。
我細(xì)細(xì)想了想，完全和英語接軌的就業(yè)渠道有這么幾種:
一，高校英語教師。要做英語教師我個(gè)人認(rèn)為不是很難，難就難在如何當(dāng)好一個(gè)英語教師。因?yàn)榫臀覀�(gè)人觀察，有很多人選擇做老師這一行多是因?yàn)榇龇�(wěn)定，以及一年兩次的假期。其實(shí)做老師可以輕而易舉的天天混著，生活安閑也沒有什么壓力�？墒侨绾握{(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生的興趣如何最大限度的利用課堂時(shí)間，這絕對(duì)不是很容易的問題。尤其在大學(xué)里，沒有了高考的壓力，老師要混日子更是輕松的很，在英語系就更別提了，上課光放放片子也可美其名曰多媒體教學(xué)。然而問題總是雙面性的，也恰恰因?yàn)闆]有了高考的壓力，更多的學(xué)生對(duì)大學(xué)老師的教學(xué)方式也變得更為挑剔。所以，在這樣的情況下如何讓學(xué)生覺得你的課worthwhile便需要花不少精力了。(補(bǔ)充;還必須強(qiáng)調(diào)的是，現(xiàn)在要在高校當(dāng)老師，文憑這個(gè)敲門磚不可少，我畢業(yè)的時(shí)候?qū)@一點(diǎn)認(rèn)識(shí)還不是很深刻，以為英語專業(yè)畢業(yè)的最后總有一個(gè)救命稻草就是當(dāng)老師，說實(shí)話，剛?cè)胄５臅r(shí)候?qū)@條路是頗為不屑的，現(xiàn)在看看形勢(shì)，稍微入流的大學(xué)都要求博士生。所以，研究生便又處于一個(gè)高不成低不就的尷尬階段!其實(shí)學(xué)習(xí)語言學(xué)的研究生其研究的內(nèi)容對(duì)于教學(xué)并沒有太大作用，但是現(xiàn)在門檻節(jié)節(jié)拔高，想當(dāng)老師也只能節(jié)節(jié)往上爬。許多局外人對(duì)于英語專業(yè)研究生還有很大的誤解，理所當(dāng)然地認(rèn)為只要上了研究生英語技能就比本科生高，我想再次聲明英語專業(yè)研究生注重的是研究能力，而并非提高基礎(chǔ)技能，包括翻譯，學(xué)習(xí)的也是理論，而且不是技巧方面的理論，是純純純純的理論!!!)
二，翻譯。外行人一聽外語系學(xué)生的名號(hào)就覺得你理所當(dāng)然的翻譯很棒。其實(shí)，我個(gè)人認(rèn)為要成為真正的翻譯好手是相當(dāng)難的。首先，英語技能必須扎實(shí)，這點(diǎn)當(dāng)然毋庸置疑，然后中文功底也必須深厚，這點(diǎn)也頗為明顯，翻譯者本來就是個(gè)橋梁，因而橋梁兩邊的風(fēng)景都得熟悉。不過中文畢竟是母語，再怎么次，好歹也能把話說清楚。英語要掌握的那么地道就不那么容易了，這就是為什么現(xiàn)在中譯英的譯者比較難找，待遇也比較高的原因。ok，除了對(duì)中英語言的掌握以外，一個(gè)人的綜合知識(shí)也相當(dāng)相當(dāng)重要，可以說和語言掌握能力處于相同的地位。為什么這么說呢?相信做過翻譯的人都有這樣的體會(huì)。翻譯原文中稍微涉及到某專業(yè)的知識(shí)，翻譯起來就頗不順手。尤其當(dāng)該領(lǐng)域?qū)δ銇碚f完全陌生時(shí)，原文在你看來也只不過是一個(gè)個(gè)孤立的單詞。其實(shí)有時(shí)候，原文并不屬于非常專業(yè)的文章，只不過里面有幾個(gè)單詞或詞組涉及到政治，經(jīng)濟(jì)或其它領(lǐng)域。其實(shí)對(duì)這領(lǐng)域稍加熟悉便能輕松應(yīng)付。因此這就要求譯者的知識(shí)面要相當(dāng)廣泛，任何領(lǐng)域都應(yīng)稍加涉獵。樣樣懂點(diǎn)皮毛，樣樣卻都不精，這樣的評(píng)語并不能說是完全褒義的。但對(duì)于英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生來說如果能做到這一點(diǎn)對(duì)于其翻譯工作卻有著莫大的幫助。其實(shí)拓寬的現(xiàn)代社會(huì)，現(xiàn)在屬于知識(shí)爆炸的時(shí)代，新生事物不斷涌現(xiàn)，若能正做到這一點(diǎn)也已經(jīng)非常不錯(cuò)了。唉，其實(shí)我個(gè)人就相當(dāng)佩服那些知識(shí)面廣的同學(xué)，欣賞他們的博學(xué)和侃侃而談的瀟灑。而我就不行了，只對(duì)自己有興趣的話題感興趣，像政治，經(jīng)濟(jì)，體育什么的，我對(duì)其了解程度真的是少的可憐哦!!!所以，這次廢話中的一個(gè)精華建議就是—努力積累，積極擴(kuò)大自己的知識(shí)領(lǐng)域。這句話不單單是對(duì)那些想從事翻譯工作的同學(xué)說的，同時(shí)也對(duì)所有人適用，當(dāng)今社會(huì)這點(diǎn)真的相當(dāng)重要。這也是提高自身修養(yǎng)的一個(gè)重要方面，尤其在社交場合，你能根據(jù)不同的交談對(duì)象輕松的從腦中數(shù)據(jù)庫調(diào)用出相關(guān)信息，然后侃侃而談，讓你的魅力值急劇飆升。(嚴(yán)重警告;請(qǐng)注意在侃侃而談時(shí)不要因忘形而造成吐沫飛濺。)呵呵，我這一扯就扯遠(yuǎn)了，我回頭看看我該說什么了。哦，翻譯!!反正，做翻譯應(yīng)該是英語專業(yè)畢業(yè)生干本行的一條途徑，其實(shí)也是個(gè)頗能賺錢的行當(dāng)(呵呵，年紀(jì)不大但已經(jīng)有銅臭味了)。
可惜自稱能做翻譯的人多了，可真正能成為行家的卻又寥寥無幾。我曾經(jīng)思考過這樣一個(gè)問題，英語專業(yè)學(xué)生和其他專業(yè)英語學(xué)的好的學(xué)生，兩者做翻譯誰更有優(yōu)勢(shì)。結(jié)果是，如果為專業(yè)性翻譯，英語專業(yè)學(xué)生絲毫無便宜可占，反倒是相關(guān)專業(yè)中英語學(xué)的好的同學(xué)，再稍加訓(xùn)練，做起本專業(yè)的翻譯反而得心應(yīng)手。英語專業(yè)學(xué)生的優(yōu)勢(shì)無非是英語掌握的比較扎實(shí)，做起文學(xué)翻譯等非專業(yè)性翻譯優(yōu)勢(shì)比較明顯�？墒菍I(yè)性英語，如經(jīng)濟(jì)英語和計(jì)算機(jī)英語，固定的詞條往往有固定的翻譯，外行人恐怕很難翻對(duì)，即便想強(qiáng)行翻，資料便得查個(gè)半天，而且往往費(fèi)了那么多事最后錯(cuò)誤率還極高，悲哀啊悲哀。所以，你如果想從事專業(yè)翻譯，光學(xué)英語是絕對(duì)不行的，還得另學(xué)專業(yè)知識(shí)，當(dāng)然，你不必理解的多么透徹，但至少，基礎(chǔ)的東西不可少。如果想從事文學(xué)翻譯，嘿嘿，你也得掂量掂量自己的中文水平哦，反正我常常是看懂了英文的意思，可是卻找不到恰當(dāng)?shù)?中文，那種滋味，唉，真是憋得慌!!!所以我一度對(duì)翻譯喪失信心。
其實(shí)我覺得語言這東西還真是講究點(diǎn)天分，你還不能不承認(rèn)。但除此之外我們能做的就是練，翻譯也是這樣。其重要性不言而喻，至少對(duì)英語專業(yè)的人來說是混飯的道路之一。那么怎么練??嘿嘿，我又要說廢話了--自己一段段翻譯。其實(shí)這真是傻瓜都明白，可類似我這樣的傻人一類總想摸索些所謂的捷徑。于是乎，我也買了幾大本翻譯技巧書，期望在看完前人的經(jīng)驗(yàn)后便得道升天。只可惜，前人的經(jīng)驗(yàn)看完了，它還是前人的，基本合上書后便不留下一絲痕跡。再說了翻譯技巧中那么多的條條框框，誰能在翻譯時(shí)眼前頓現(xiàn)如此多框架??所以哦，還是得練。那么如何練?我認(rèn)為應(yīng)該閱讀前人經(jīng)驗(yàn)和自己實(shí)際操作相結(jié)合。只有自己做了才能深刻體會(huì)到技巧的高妙，才能在下次遇到類似句型時(shí)立刻想到運(yùn)用相關(guān)技巧。而且在翻譯中通過對(duì)不同方法的捉摸和比較，我們也能自己摸索出最佳的翻譯方法。具體說，我覺得應(yīng)該選一本配有練習(xí)的翻譯書，每天翻譯一篇，然后將自己的譯文和參考答案相對(duì)照。仔細(xì)捉摸不同之處，分析參考譯文的優(yōu)點(diǎn)。如果有翻譯分析，那當(dāng)然就更好了。最后，將那些值得注意的地方以及自己總結(jié)出的技巧用筆記本記錄下來。這樣印象絕對(duì)深刻。而且這比任何翻譯技巧書任何翻譯教程都有用。其實(shí)自己親自翻譯是最有用的英語學(xué)習(xí)之道，這不僅僅就翻譯技巧的提高而言，而且你每翻譯一段文字其實(shí)是對(duì)該文字的徹底消化，無論是英文語法，句式結(jié)構(gòu)還是文章的具體內(nèi)容!反正，翻譯是最全面最徹底的英語學(xué)習(xí)方法!!!
有朋友此時(shí)想問了，即然你將翻譯練習(xí)說的那么神奇，那么你堅(jiān)持多久了?呵，呵(注:苦笑聲)，千萬不要因?yàn)槲掖蛄诉@么多字就忘了我的本性—一個(gè)懶人!!!唉，其實(shí)我也是堅(jiān)持了兩天的，還用紅筆注出我譯文和參考譯文的不同之處，后來因?yàn)榧t筆筆跡太多，而且翻譯過程又太痛苦，就又放棄了。直到現(xiàn)在還沒有勇氣和毅力再重新開始，汗顏哦。不過，你們一定要相信我，這樣的練習(xí)方式絕對(duì)會(huì)使你的翻譯水平有大幅度提高，當(dāng)然，前提是你得堅(jiān)持!!兩天速成是不可能的，我本人不就是個(gè)鮮活的例子嗎??
反正話說那么多了，是非對(duì)錯(cuò)還得看官您自個(gè)兒分析，您說是這個(gè)理不?當(dāng)時(shí)我練習(xí)用的是上海外語教育出版社出的《高級(jí)翻譯教程》，就是英語高級(jí)口譯資格證書考試系列書之一，孫萬彪，王恩銘編著。這本書和其他翻譯教程不一樣，沒有專門講授翻譯技巧，而是通過對(duì)一篇篇短文的翻譯和講解來進(jìn)行實(shí)例分析。每單元一開始就是一篇文章，你可以先自己翻譯一遍，翻譯過程中有不懂的單詞和用法可以參照文章后面的words and expressions。然后和參考譯文對(duì)照，找出差別，然后結(jié)合notes and explanations分析這些不同之處，并總結(jié)經(jīng)驗(yàn)。我感覺這本書這樣用應(yīng)該能達(dá)到編者預(yù)期的效果。如果只是生看，那你其實(shí)在做課文分析!!!ok，希望有志之士能照我這辦法練習(xí)一段時(shí)間，我不敢說你的翻譯水平能在多短時(shí)間內(nèi)得到提高，但堅(jiān)持?jǐn)?shù)年必有好處。另外，向大家推薦兩本我們?nèi)握n老師向我們推薦的兩本翻譯教程。都是比較老，但據(jù)說是比較經(jīng)典的，有興趣朋友可以買來看看。英譯漢她推薦的是上海外語教育出版社出版的《英漢翻譯教程》，張培基，喻云根等編著。嘿嘿，看看年代1980年9月第一版，至今已經(jīng)翻印了三十幾版，可見其經(jīng)典性了吧。還有本漢譯英也是上海外語出版社出版的，名為《漢英翻譯基礎(chǔ)》，主編;陳宏薇
上次談到做老師和當(dāng)翻譯，其實(shí)英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生還可以在一個(gè)領(lǐng)域拓展自己的優(yōu)勢(shì)，那就是—英文寫作。雖然很多英語專業(yè)的同學(xué)提起英文寫作仍是一幅苦不堪言的樣子。但畢竟相對(duì)非專業(yè)的同學(xué)而言，我們多了四年的專業(yè)訓(xùn)練，還是有優(yōu)勢(shì)可言的�，F(xiàn)如今，我們口語的戰(zhàn)場已一步步淪陷，越來越多的非英語專業(yè)生的口語技能不得不讓我們這些科班出生的人汗顏。不過，這也是一種趨勢(shì)，而且口語這東西，只要苦心練習(xí)，必定有所成。但寫作就不一樣了，它需要一定時(shí)間的專業(yè)培訓(xùn)，一些規(guī)則和格式都需要練。當(dāng)然我不否認(rèn)非英語專業(yè)學(xué)生也能通過自己的努力來提高自己的寫作水平。敢問什么事不能?但畢竟相對(duì)于口語而言，寫作并不為那么多人所重視，而且練習(xí)寫作遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)要比練習(xí)口語復(fù)雜的多。而英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生由于接觸英語畢竟比較多，而且也有過幾學(xué)期寫作的專業(yè)訓(xùn)練，因而在英文寫作上還是有優(yōu)勢(shì)可言的。但俗話說師傅領(lǐng)進(jìn)門，修行靠個(gè)人。如何將這個(gè)優(yōu)勢(shì)擴(kuò)大，才是我們需要面對(duì)的問題。雖然有優(yōu)勢(shì)，但寫出來的東西還是不令人滿意，仍然不能符合要求，那么這種優(yōu)勢(shì)就根本不能叫做優(yōu)秀。如果想靠寫作來混飯吃，當(dāng)撰稿人或編輯什么的話，就必須—練。呵呵，還是老生常談。其實(shí)，英文寫作是最能反映一個(gè)人英語綜合水平的，這就反映在你寫出的東西是否流暢簡潔，是否像篇英文的東西。聽起來簡單，但做起來是多難啊。這就是為什么英文寫作一直是眾多英語學(xué)習(xí)者的心病�？梢赃@樣說，如果你能自如的寫出比較地道的文章，那么你對(duì)英語的掌握就已經(jīng)很深了。而且為什么現(xiàn)在做翻譯中譯英遠(yuǎn)比英語中難?就是因?yàn)槔斫庵形囊馑既菀椎獙⑵滢D(zhuǎn)換為地道的英文，那就難了。所以如果英文寫作能力比較強(qiáng)的話，中譯英的能力也會(huì)相應(yīng)提高。
